The Carroll County Arts Council
91 West
Main Street
Westminster, MD 21157
410-848-7272
www.carr.org/arts
I spend many hours each week at the new Carroll Arts Center
volunteering, teaching, and serving on the Board of Directors.
The completely renovated old art deco theater is a wonderful
new home to the Arts Council. I encourage all my local friends
and clients to join the Carroll County Arts Council and attend
the multitude of programs, concerts, and classes offered.
Maryland Homebrew
6770 Oak Hall Lane
Columbia, MD
www.mdhb.com
My favorite full-line homebrew supply store
which, by the way, sells my "Hops Vine" t-shirts. If you stop
by to visit them, ask them about my Handpainted pint glasses.
They are very popular among the "regulars" there.
Guiding Eyes for the Blind
Catoctin Chapter
www.guidingeyescatoctin.org
The Catoctin Chapter of Guiding Eyes for the
Blind focuses on helping puppy raisers raise healthy,
well-adjusted pups to be magnificent guide dogs for Guiding
Eyes for the Blind based in Yorktown Heights, NY. Raising a
puppy was a most valuable experience for me. Puppy sitting for
the Catoctin Chapter keeps me in touch with these fine folks
and canines. The experience of being with Labrador retrievers
has given me a new passion in my art work. You'll see the dogs
on wine and pint glasses and in other paintings. Check out
their website for volunteer opportunities, nifty
photo-greeting cards, and to learn more about this great
organization.
The Common Market
Natural
Food Co-op
5813 Buckeystown Pike
Frederick, MD 21704
www.commonmarket.coop
My favorite healthy foods grocery store with organically
and locally grown produce. They carry my Henry David Thoreau
"simplify" t-shirts--and they sell a lot of them! They are the
ones who encouraged me to carry the long-sleeve t-shirts.
The Midnight Homebrewers' League
http://home.comcast.net/~midnighthomebrewers/
As a homebrewer of delicious ales, ciders, meads, and
wines, I would be remiss not to share the website of my fellow
homebrewers. We have been a club since 1994. Check out our
activities, the newsletters, and brewing tips!
Quilted Finishes
www.quiltedfinishes.com
This is the website of my sister, Laurie LaConte. She is
an awesome quilt-maker and now offers her finishing services
to other quilt makers with the help of a huge quilting
machine. If you are a quilter or know a quilter, please check
out this web site.
Leslie's Garden
www.LesliesGarden.com
"Leslie is a good friend who makes the very best soap. Not
only that, but her web site is a highly pleasurable experience
to navigate. Check it out."
Lake Arts
www.LakeArts.com
"A great web site for just about all your floorcloth-making
needs, paints, finishes, and much more. They are very helpful
and often have unbelievable prices on special sale items."
Homemade in America
www.homemadeinamerica.com
A great way to
link to other quality artists and craftsmen around the
country--on-line.
