Byrdcall handpainted glasses are unique and made with PRIDE!
They make great gifts. Custom orders are readily accepted and made to please! Byrdcall Studio takes great pride in producing the highest quality in hand-painted glassware. I’ve dishwasher-tested my glasses—for several years with no problems. For guaranteed long-life to the painting on your glasses, I recommend hand washing, but the dishwasher will generally not harm them unless your detergent is abrasive.
Each painting is original, and like no other. I sometimes make similar glasses as sets, but I have never painted two glasses exactly like each other. With a background in biology and scientific illustration, you’ll find my subjects tend to be more realistic than caricatures. I paint so that the image is visually pleasing from the interior as well as the exterior of the glass – reverse painting in action. It is a challenging and time-consuming process, but I feel you should enjoy the view of your glass from the inside as you sip as well as the outside. In preparing these glasses, four coats of primer, paint, and gloss finish were applied… no short cuts!
The glasses on display here fit into 2 categories:
1. Glasses currently available for purchase
2. Glasses which have already have homes—either sold or custom orders
I show them all to give you ideas for custom work that you might ask me to do for you. Glasses I paint for you may look very similar to the ones you ask me to duplicate, but they will not be identical.
